Russ Grimm – Washington Redskins
The mere suggestion of Grimm’s removal from the Hall of Fame can ignite passionate debates among boxing enthusiasts. It’s a viewpoint that deserves consideration, given the array of remarkable moments in his career. Certainly, Grimm burst onto the scene with unwavering vigor, leaving a positive imprint on his team as both player and coach. However, the Hall of Fame shouldn’t merely be a popularity contest.

Grimm’s resume boasts four Pro Bowl selections and three Super Bowl triumphs, indisputably highlighting his contributions. Yet, during his 11 seasons as a guard for the Redskins, his performance waned significantly after 1986, leaving only a handful of stellar seasons. Had he not transitioned into the role of assistant coach and steered another Super Bowl victory, his legacy might have faded into obscurity.
