Andre Tippett – New England Patriots
After displaying immense potential during his college days at Iowa, Tippett embarked on a remarkable 11-season journey with the Patriots, primarily as an outside linebacker in professional football. Not only did he earn the prestigious title of NFL Defensive Player of the Year, but he also received the honor of being selected for the Pro Bowl on five occasions, starting his professional career on a high note.

During the 1984-1985 seasons, Tippett achieved an astounding feat by recording 35.0 sacks, setting a linebacker record for that timeframe. However, when we consider his overall sack tally of 100.0 throughout his 11-season career, it becomes evident that his performance waned as the years passed. This decline in his later years on the field has left many fans questioning the legitimacy of his Hall of Fame induction in 2008.
