Have you ever wondered which film genre increased in popularity, which one decreased, or which one stayed consistent from the year 1910 to 2018? Well, you now have the answer! It seems that there was a spike in crime which ended up decreasing in popularity altogether by 2018.

The horror genre just got more and more popular, which tells you a lot about the current state of the world. Western films were hugely popular from 1910 to 1990, after which they dramatically died down. Romance never died, but its popularity did decrease a smidge, probably since the conception of dating apps (don’t quote us on that). Quite interesting, isn’t it?
