The Rare Ganges River Dolphin
The Ganges river dolphin is a rare but wonderful encounter. The species is almost completely blind and nearly extinct. The Ganges River is too murky to see through; like other dolphins, they hunt by emitting ultrasonic sounds that bounce off the prey, allowing them to see an image in their mind.

The Ganges river dolphin look is so cute and quirky; they look like they’re always smiling! It would be quite a rare, amazing sight to see one! The endangered species only has a few thousand left in the wild. Dams, fishing, and wastewater are some of the primary threats to the species. They can still be found in Nepal, India, and Bangladesh.
